Why We Need Your Support…
We face a huge financial ‘double-whammy’. Amy is Oakley’s full time carer and Nick works a flexible 4 day week in order to play a full role in Oakley’s care and limit the load on Amy, this means we have one limited income. This is likely to remain the case for some time because even when Oakley goes to school we expect this will be a phased process due to Oakley’s special needs.
Additionally there are all the costs of Oakley’s specialist care and equipment. The support Amy receives as a full time carer barely meets the basic needs let alone these extra costs.
It’s impossible to manage the financial challenges without the incredible support of family and friends, we are so grateful! This is making a massive difference to us and more importantly Oakley’s life chances.
Our family continues to help us substantially with income support for our day to day living costs and have also funded a major project to create an extended and accessible home for Oakley.
