You Make A Donation Through JustGiving
JustGiving is an international fundraising payment platform.
When you donate 25% gift aid is added (if you are a UK taxpayer)
Donations With The 25% Added Are Passed On To The Tree Of Hope Charity
This is an established UK charity which helps children like Oakley who need healthcare funding. It uses JustGiving as its fundraising platform.
Tree of Hope holds these funds in an individual account for Oakley and Nick can arrange for Tree of Hope to pay suppliers direct, such as physio therapists, orthotics and equipment suppliers etc. Nick cannot draw on the funds directly.
Costs
When you make a donation via JustGiving you are invited by default to add a ‘tip’ to Just Giving for the reasons they explain – but this is voluntary, you can reduce the % using the slider or to zero by clicking on ‘enter custom amount’ just below that. 25% gift aid is added to the value of your donation sent to Tree of Hope less a gift aid payment processing fee of 1.9%+30p. Tree of Hope deduct 7.5% from their donations received for their operating costs. So every £100 donated can generate something like a net £114 for Oakley.
