Oxford Brookes university & Oxford University ACE SMA study

21^st January saw Oakley at his first site at Oxford Brookes university & Oxford University ACE SMA study . This followed 9th January 2025 first home visit.
We are fortunate to be able to have a Galileo machine at home for 12 months as we are participants in this study to show how hands on physio and use of the machine leads to outcomes for a range of children like Oakley. We go monthly to Oxford Brookes and the physio with students come to us monthly.

The machine seems like an extremely high tech and intense version of those commercial gym vibration plates https://galileotherapyuk.co.uk/ It’s amazing to witness live improvements in balance etc potentiating his physio sessions. We have Oakley on it daily with a set prescription of exercises as part of the study, along with some very functional /OT/ gross motor skills movement goals. When Oakley uses it looks he’s getting an amazing extreme warm up.
